DARWIN, a wandering child, enters an old house to steal food but accidentally spills the meal. Surprisingly, the homeowner, a seemingly cold man, doesn’t punish him. Guilt-ridden, Darwin stays to make the man happier. Over time, they form a bond, and the man plays with him, pushing Darwin on a swing. Unfazed by the neighbors’ odd looks, Darwin remains content. One day, the man gifts him a box of old toys, and Darwin, overwhelmed with joy, hugs him. While exploring the toys, he finds a picture and a letter. When he looks back, the man has disappeared. The film concludes with two neighboring children watching Darwin play on the swing alone, sharing puzzled glances, leaving the story’s conclusion open-ended.
